Соосновательница Refinery29 Кристен Барберич уходит с поста главного редактора издания из-за постов бывших сотрудниц в Twitter. Несколько дней назад они обвинили Барберич в создании токсичной рабочей среды для темнокожих редакторов. Все началось с твита бывшего директора отдела новостей и политики Эшли Элис Эдвардс: «Вы знаете, как выглядит настоящая поддержка? Справедливая оплата труда ваших темнокожих сотрудников, темнокожие женщины на руководящих должностях и отсутствие агрессии, с которой ваши темнокожие сотрудники сталкиваются со стороны руководства на ежедневной основе». Ее поддержала бывшая фичер-редактор Эшли С. Форд и другие сотрудники издания.
