Музей современного искусства «Гараж» приостановил работу из-за пандемии коронавируса. Образовательный центр, библиотека и архив «Гаража» тоже временно закрыты. Об этом сообщил директор Музея Антон Белов. Он отметил, что среди работников «Гаража» нет ни одного зараженного коронавирусом, однако руководство Музея «предпринимало и предпринимает все рекомендованные меры профилактики, включая карантин сотрудников после поездок и отмену предстоящих командировок». Сейчас команда «Гаража» работает над созданием онлайн-программ, посвященных искусству. «В ситуации возрастающего напряжения мы видим для себя только одну возможность минимизировать потенциальную опасность — на время приостановить публичную работу Музея, Образовательного центра, библиотеки и архива. Всей команде «Гаража» и мне лично это решение далось очень тяжело. Но если мы — как популярный музей — не предпримем все зависящие от нас меры, то тем самым мы поставим под угрозу здоровье вас — наших бессменных соратников по развитию современного искусства в России, всех приглашенных лекторов и педагогов, наших сотрудников, родственников и друзей старшего возраста... Я очень надеюсь, что коронавирусная инфекция будет взята под контроль в ближайшее время. И пусть сейчас мы кажемся паникерами, нам важно сделать этот шаг», — рассказал Антон Белов. Когда Музей возобновит работу, пока неизвестно.
