Во время работы над коллекцией Мария Грация Кьюри вдохновлялась желанием сделать что-то полезное для природы. На фоне последних сообщений о лесных пожарах в разных регионах, от Сибири до Амазонии, креативный директор Dior решила, что миру не хватает деревьев. Поэтому она попросила специалистов ландшафтной студии Atelier Coloco собрать сад из саженцев, которые после показа посадят в разных районах Парижа и его окрестностях. Так на территории ипподрома Longchamp, где проходил показ, появилась аллея из 164 кадок. На каждом дереве висели бирки с информацией о происхождении и кратким рассказом о том, куда оно отправится после шоу.

«Природная» тема нашла воплощение в принтах. Чтобы изобразить растения и цветы с максимальной точностью, Мария Грация собирала гербарий и даже сходила на экскурсию к Марку Джинсону, директору Сада растений в Национальном музее естественной истории в Париже. Изучив архивы, она превратила травы и листья в вышивки и принты, которые покрыли платья, блузы и даже аксессуары Dior.

Наверняка найдутся скептики, которые назовут этот показ очередной пиар-акцией и спекуляцией на теме экологии. Но мы с ними заранее не согласны: шоу стало образцом применения принципов устойчивого развития в моде. Dior не только оказались полезными для природы, но и не нанесли ей вреда. Для создания всех элементов сет-дизайна использовались только переработанные материалы — и никакого пластика!

Катрин Диор

Составляя мудборд, Мария Грация также вспоминала младшую сестру Кристиана Диора — Катрин. В годы Второй мировой войны Катрин Диор была активной участницей французского Сопротивления — в 1944-м ее арестовали, подвергли пыткам и отправили в женский концлагерь Равенсбрюк в Восточной Германии. Однако Катрин удалось спастись — в 1945 году ее освободили вместе с другими заключенными, а позднее за военные заслуги наградили французским Военным крестом и британской королевской медалью «За отвагу в борьбе за освобождение».

Катрин очень любила брата. После смерти Кристиана она основала в родном нормандском Гранвилле его музей, где позднее Мария Грация Кьюри не раз бывала. Например, для своей первой кутюрной коллекции Dior она воссоздала благодаря архивам музея вышивки, которые украшали платья еще при жизни Диора.

Одним из главных увлечений в жизни Катрин было садоводство. Отсюда в новой коллекции большое количество комбинезонов, похожих на те, что носят профессиональные садовники.

У показа Dior было два саундтрека. Один — для тех, кто смотрел его вживую: гости шоу оценивали вещи под песню Руфуса Уэйнрайта Across the Universe. Ее сложно назвать гимном природе или экологии — скорее, это музыкальное размышление на тему мира будущего, в котором будут жить наши дети. А зрители онлайн-трансляции услышали композицию оскароносного французского композитора Александра Деспла River — изначально он написал ее для фильма о месте человека в мире — «Древо жизни».
